In the heart of the namesake district of Naples, the Basilica of Santa Maria della Sanità stands as a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and art. Its imposing dimensions, combined with the sober elegance of the decorative complex, posed a unique challenge: to create effective and discreet lighting capable of enhancing both the grandeur of the spaces and the artistic details of the radial chapels.
To meet this need, compact and high-performance fixtures were employed, capable of illuminating from great distances without being visible to visitors. The radial chapels, richly decorated and enriched with works of great value, including paintings by Luca Giordano, have been equipped with a precisely designed lighting system. The lighting fixtures, positioned behind the parapets at the entrance of each chapel, highlight every detail avoiding reflections and glare, particularly on the canvases.
This intervention illuminates not only the physical structure but also the profound historical and cultural value of the Basilica, creating a visual experience that unites spirituality and artistic beauty. An excellent example of how technology can enhance and respect art and tradition.
