The Museo Correr, one of the jewels of the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, hosts in its Canova Wing a collection dedicated to the great sculptor Antonio Canova. In this unique context, the lighting project curated by Architect Eva Balestreri resulted in an intervention of extraordinary precision and respect for the historical heritage.
The main challenge was the impossibility of modifying the supporting structures: the intervention therefore focused on the molded frame, used as the only anchoring point. Thanks to this approach, the Muve system, specifically designed for the collection, allowed for the illumination of both the vaults and the artworks with a single harmonious solution.
The products used, including Solar 100, Solar 60, and Longitudinal, were chosen for their versatility and ability to integrate light in a discreet and functional manner. The combination of advanced technology and minimalist design enhanced the historical architecture and artworks, offering visitors an immersive and emotionally impactful experience.
The photographs by Alessandra Magister testify to the result: a perfect blend of light and art, where every architectural and artistic detail is highlighted without altering its natural beauty. An example of how lighting can become a narrative element for unique exhibition spaces.
