Stay enhances the artistic heritage of Milan for Milan MuseoCity
Milan MuseoCity, the artistic and cultural initiative from March 2 to 8, 2025, offered the public the opportunity to discover Milan’s heritage, choosing Stay as the technical partner for this year’s theme “Art Roads”. In this edition, three winning institutions – Fondazione Somaini ETS, Archivio Rodolfo Monaco, and Castello Sforzesco – benefited from Stay’s innovative lighting solutions.
At the Fondazione Somaini ETS, Stay installed two SOLAR 100 devices with high color rendering in white, equipped with anti-glare filters and 10° by 60° elliptical lenses. This solution allowed the illumination of “Grande Bassorilievo. Le Baccanti nella Foresta,” a white fiberglass work, obtained from the rolling of a sculpture created by Somaini in the period 1987-1988. The SOLAR technology ensures exceptional color rendering, with vivid whites and uniform beams, enhancing the beauty of the work.
At the Archivio Rodolfo Monaco, the goal was to enhance the colors of the work “New York” (1996), created with the technique of colored earths. In this case as well, Stay employed
Finally, at the Castello Sforzesco, Stay faced the challenge of illuminating the “Gonfalone di Milano,” the civic symbol par excellence. Thanks to a custom lighting solution, designed to adapt to the characteristics of the 15th-century monument without usable electrical systems, continuous and targeted light was ensured, enhancing every detail of the work while respecting the exhibition aesthetics.
With these installations, Stay demonstrates how advanced technologies can make the enjoyment of artworks even more evocative and engaging.
